Westgate Recognized As Top Hospitality Company in the Central Florida Area By Orlando Business Journal
The Orlando Business Journal has recognized Westgate Resorts as a top company in its annual “Golden 100” list which ranks companies in Central Florida based on gross revenue totals and financial gains, measured in percent change, made in the more recent fiscal year.
Westgate Resorts, which consistently ranks among the top three companies every year, was ranked third on this year’s list and is also the top-rated hospitality company on the list edging out Rosen Hotels & Resorts, which finished sixth overall on the list. Westgate’s success was largely tied to its phenomenal growth this year – including the acquisitions of the Cocoa Beach Pier, the former Las Vegas Hilton and the Orlando Predators arena? football team.
“It has been a banner year for us,” stated David Siegel, “I am extremely proud of our team members. They all had a hand in making this possible and without them, we wouldn’t have accomplished so much. At the pace we are growing, I’m optimistic that we will be number one next year.”
The Orlando Business Journal held a luncheon on Friday, August 22 to commemorate the organizations that were able to make the list. Mr. Siegel, along with his wife Jacqueline, and various members of the executive team were in attendance to receive Westgate’s recognition. Of all the positives attributed to Westgate’s success, members of the OBJ panel were most impressed with Westgate’s 23% growth over the 2013-2014 fiscal year, a seven-fold increase over the next strongest hospitality company.
“The next chapter of the Westgate Resorts story is still being written, and I am excited to see us continue to watch us grow,” remarked Siegel.
